Cutting the flow of illegal guns into Chicago limits the number of guns that are used in crimes.
PSPC supports gun policy and advocates that target the source of illegal guns and work toward statewide gun policy reform. Efforts supported by PSPC include:
Gun Violence Prevention Action Committee — G-PAC works to counter the political influence of the gun industry and their lobby in Springfield. G-PAC raises the resources necessary to protect and elect public officials who push for gun-safety measures.
Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence — ICHV works on a variety of fronts to educate, raise public awareness, and build coalitions to enact change in laws and behavior.
Illinois Justice Project — ILJP advances policies and practices that reduce violence, decrease prison recidivism and make the justice system more equitable.
